Migrating to Windows 11
Windows 10 support is coming to an end: Microsoft will stop releasing security updates starting October 14, 2025. Contrary to alarming rumors, your PC will not suddenly stop working overnight: your files, programs, and games will remain accessible. However, without patches, vulnerabilities will no longer be fixed, gradually increasing risks. Microsoft offers an extension (ESU) until 2026, mainly for businesses but also available to individuals. Still, this is only a temporary solution. In the long run, drivers, browsers, and modern software will abandon Windows 10, reducing its compatibility. Between upgrading to Windows 11, exploring Linux, or buying a new PC, several options exist to anticipate this transition. The key is not to give in to catastrophist narratives but to calmly prepare for the future of your workstation.
